PRINTING GUIDE / 02
Print different-sized photos on one page
Give every image its own size. Let the sheet do the rest.
Plan the finished prints first
Before arranging the paper, measure the spaces your prints need to fill. A scrapbook pocket might need a 5 cm-wide photo; a reference image could be 8 cm wide. Choose the dimensions for the objects you will use, rather than trying to fill the sheet edge to edge.
Add JPG or PNG images to PaperFit and set each width or height. The proportions stay locked. You can mix landscape and portrait images, and change the Copies field when you want several of the same print.
A small project to try
| Image | Print size | Copies |
|---|---|---|
| Portrait photo, 3:4 ratio | 5 × 6.67 cm | 2 |
| Landscape image, 4:3 ratio | 8 × 6 cm | 1 |
| Square illustration | 4 × 4 cm | 3 |
That gives six prints from three images. Select A4, portrait, a 10 mm margin and a 6 mm gap. Review every sheet before exporting. The exact arrangement can change when you add or resize an image.
Leave room for the printer and scissors
Most home printers cannot print all the way to the edge of ordinary paper. PaperFit starts with a 10 mm margin and never allows less than 5 mm. Your printer may need more. Consult its printable-area information when a print near the edge is clipped.
The gap is space between images. A few millimetres makes separate cutting easier and leaves space for the small cutting guides. The guides sit just outside each image, rather than on top of your picture.
Why did one of my images turn sideways?
When “Turn images to fit more on a sheet” is enabled, PaperFit can rotate a print by 90 degrees. Its physical dimensions are unchanged. This can fit a wider image into a taller open space. Turn the option off if the orientation matters for your paper or cutting process.
More images means more sheets, not smaller pictures
When the current sheet fills up, PaperFit starts another. It does not reduce your chosen sizes to cram everything onto one page. Use the sheet arrows under the preview to check the full project. The arrangement is practical, but it is not a mathematical guarantee of the fewest possible sheets.
Check your quantities. Each project supports 24 source images, 100 total copies and 40 sheets. Larger batches are easier to manage as separate projects.
Save the PDF and print at actual size
Choose Download print-ready PDF, open the downloaded file and print at 100% / Actual size. The PDF preserves your individual dimensions. If you are unsure about the printer setup, run the scale-check sheet first.
